The Great Machine is an object that appears in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. It is a massive apparatus built by Dexter and Mandark[1][2] for creating and managing Nanos, the ultimate weapons against the invaders from Planet Fusion, and is connected to every Nano Station on the Earth. As such, the Great Machine is a primary target for Lord Fuse's army and is under constant surveillance by the Kids Next Door.
Physical appearance
The Great Machine consists of a floating circular pad with cyan hologram-like rims and four metallic gray-blue prongs on the rim in the four cardinal directions with slanted flaps on top of each of them. On the bottom of each of these flaps are cyan lights and vent-like rims. Like Nano Stations, above the Great Machine is also a holographic blue sphere with circult-based lines on it and two flat rings around it, with one of these rings being bigger than the other. The Great Machine also have a holographic projector on both the bottom of its floating circular pad and on the ground below it that projects an almost circular limegreen sphere between them. This sphere has several panels on the upper half. Lastly, the Great Machine has four Nano Station terminals surrounding it.

In the Future, the Great Machine is implied to have been created by Dexter and Mandark through a collaborative effort.[2] However, its contributions to the opposition of the Fusion Invasion seemingly came too late, as Planet Fusion would soon absorb the Earth.[3] The Great Machine originally resided in City Hall, but when Lord Fuse attacked that area, Ranger Louie and the Kids Next Door relocated it to the Cul-de-Sac in Peach Creek Commons before the machine could be destroyed.[4]
The Past
In the Past, the Great Machine was created by Dexter and Mandark using information sent from the Future that revealed how to their future selves had discovered how to create Nanos.[1][5] The Great Machine was eventually established in City Hall where it would be kept secure by the Kids Next Door.[6]
Powers and abilities
- Nano Synthetization: The Great Machine is the key component that allows people to synthetize Nanos,[7] provided they supply it with three elements: Fusion Matter, a Nano creation item, and one's own imagination.[5]
- Nano Modification: Like the Nano Stations connected to it, if provided with enough Fusion Matter and the correct Power Items, the Great Machine can modify a Nano by switching a Nano's active Nano Power out with one of its two dormant Nano Powers and activate it.[8][9]
