Stickybeard the Pirate, the king of the Candy Pirates, from OpenFusion.
The Candy Pirates are an organization in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. They refer to pirate-themed humans who, instead of hoarding treasures such as doubloons, hoard candy from around the suburbs.[1][2] It is even hinted that interstellar Candy Pirates exist as well.[1] However, while Candy Pirates usually target kids for their candy, they do not do so due so out of hatred for kids, but simply because they love candy so much.[3]
There many kinds of Candy Pirate crews outs there and even individual captains. However, they all answer to the leadership of Stickybeard, the king of the Candy Pirates.[4][5] They are as well adversaries of the Kids Next Door.[6]
Since the beginning of the Fusion Invasion, Stickybeard and the Candy Pirates have agreed to a truce and are now helping the Earth's resistance oppose the invaders from Planet Fusion by shipping in supplies to the ground forces from the sea,[6][7] although Stickybeard has plans to use the invasion as a distruction to hoard more candy than ever.[1]
The Candy Pirates' standard weapons for their members are the Candy Pirate Swords.

Fusion Invasion
The Future
Licorice Lips the Candy Pirate in Candy Cove in the Future, from OpenFusion.
In the Future, the Candy Pirates would fall on hard times as the Fusion Invasion escalated. Firstly, Stickybeard's vessel, the Sweet Revenge, ran aground in Candy Cove. From there, Lord Fuse's infection took hold and destroyed the vessel, leaving it partially submerged in a sea of Fusion Matter.[8][9] After that, Stickybeard left to requisition himself a new ship and crew, only to disappear as well.[10][10][11] What would remain of the Candy Pirates would settle down in the Candy Pirate village in Candy Cove, where their rations of candy were severely limited and fading fast.[12][13][14]
The Past
In the Past, the Candy Pirates are not out of the game, but still facing tough times. With Stickybeard's proud ship, the Sweet Revenge, having run aground and turned into an Infected Zone, Stickybeard himself and his crew have set themselves up in the Candy Pirate village in Candy Cove, only for Lord Fuse to keep stealing their candy.[15] Other Candy Pirates can be found around sea coasts, such as Orchid Bay, Bravo Beach, and the Monkey Foothills, though they can also be found on the Sweet Revenge. Captain Meltaway and his crew had also taken up residence in the isolated canyon of Devil's Bluff, having accidentally ended up there when their ship took "one wrong turn".[16]

Origin
Candy Pirates, from Codename: Kids Next Door.
The Candy Pirates originate from the 2002 American animated television series Codename: Kids Next Door. In that media, they are some of the recurring antagonists in the show. The term "Candy Pirate" applies to pirate-themed adults who sail around in the suburbs in land-faring galleons and similar ships where they obsessively plunder the residential children of their candy for themselves in the same manner as how the pirates of old hoarded treasures and other valuables. Candy Pirates come in various crews consisting mainly of males that are formed around a captain who acts as their crew's leader. For weapons, they make use of candy-themes armaments, such as Candy Cane Swords and gum wad cannonballs.
Candy Pirates have supposedly existed for centuries. Famous Candy Pirates from the past include Long John Silverfilling and Black John Licorice. In the present day, the most infamous and well-known Candy Pirate is Stickybeard, the captain of the Sweet Revenge and his own crew of Candy Pirates, who roams Sector V. He is also a big adversary of the Kids Next Door.
