A Corruption Attack is a kind of attack that Fusions and various Fusion Monsters can perform in combat, specifically against any Nano you have active.
How they Work
A monster winding up for a corruption attack.
Every once in a while, a monster will take a swipe at your Nano; this is called a Corruption attack. There are three different types of corruption attacks, which correspond to the three Nano Types: Adaptium, Blastons and Cosmix. As they wind up, the monster will start to glow the color of the attack type: Blue for Adaptium, Red for Blaston and Yellow for Cosmix.
The effect of the attack varies based on the type of Nano you have active:
A diagram illustrating which types beat which during a corruption attack.
- If your active Nano type beats the attack, your Nano will receive a boost of stamina.
- If the Nano loses against the Corruption attack, its stamina is heavily drained.
- If you do not have a Nano active, you will take the damage directly.
A Nano wins or loses against a Corruption Attack based on the A/B/C rule of combat: Type A's trump type B's, type B's trump type C's, and type C's trump type A's. For example, if the monster in the above picture uses an A type attack, but the character has a C type Nano equipped, then the Nano will win the attack.
Tips and Tricks
There are various ways to work against Corruption Attacks, including:
- Monsters can perform all three types of Corruption Attacks, so you should carry a Nano of every type so that you can beat them.
- Monsters will always make a Corruption Attack that will trump your active Nano if you do not swap it out for a different one.
- You can tell the type of Corruption Attack a monster is making from the color of the attack's windup.
- You have time to equip a Nano of the winning type while it is winding up its Corruption Attack.
- Monsters can perform multiple Corruption Attacks in quick succession, so make sure you can react quick enough to beat all of them!
