The Eruption Attack,[1] also known as just Eruption,[2][3] is a game mechanic that appears in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. It is an attack that certain monsters can use to deal heavy damage.
Gameplay
In gameplay, the Eruption Attack is a special attack that most Fusions, as well as specific Fusion Monsters and miscellaneous enemies, can pull off in battle by sending an explosion of Fusion Matter at the Avatar.[3]
A Pesky Pony charging an Eruption Attack, from OpenFusion.
When an enemy uses the Eruption Attack, the move will deal noticeable damage to the Avatar if they get caught in the blast. The amount of damage dealt from Eruption Attacks depends on the difference between the Avatar's level and the enemy's: the smaller the difference, the more damage is dealt, and the greater it is, the less damage is dealt. If the levels are equal however, the damage output is neutral. That said, Eruption Attacks from boss versions of monsters or Fusions deal higher damage than normal. When launching the attack, the ground at the Avatar's feet will first glow green with Fusion Matter for a moment, before a tall column of Fusion Matter launches into the air, along with debris, from the target zone on the ground.
To avoid an Eruption Attack, the player has two options. Firstly, they can get out of the target zone for the Eruption Attack if they are quick enough on their feet or use the Dash. This will not stop the attack, but it will prevent it from hitting the Avatar.[3] Secondly, the player can defeat the user before the Eruption Attack is launched, although that will only work within the first few seconds after the attack begins. Though the target zone will remain for a few seconds after the user's defeat, it will soon disappear. If the monsters have a Stun - Cone ability however, they are more likely to use an Eruption Attack while Avatar is stunned.

Trivia
The old version of the Eruption Attack in the Game Guide Menu, from OpenFusion.
- When launching Eruption Attacks, the target zone used to look like cracks with Fusion Matter leaking from the recesses on the ground. Follow a patch to the game though, said target zone would instead look like green spots of bubbling Fusion Matter appearing on the ground.
