The Streetgrinder is a robotic Fusion Monster. Its main body is a downward and two-layered, cone-shaped tubes filled with Fusion Matter, with a yellow and dark gray-striped cap on the top of its upper cone and a dark blue metal ring around the upper cone's lower edge. The lower cone of the main body also has four pairs of blue and white titanium blades[1] attached to its lower tip. Around the midsection of its body is also a large metallic blue eyemask on the front with white outlines on it and featureless red eyes with black rims displayed inside it while the back has a pair of metallic blue exhaust pipes on it. Lastly, it has two arms: the right one is an intertwined set of gray cables with a black wristband with yellow stribes and a sweeper for a hand, and the left one is a segmented metallic blue cord with Fusion Matter flowing through it and a black suction mouth with yellow stribes for a hand.

Gameplay

In gameplay, the Streetgrinders are enemy monsters that the player fights at various points in the game, either optionally, or as a part of a mission objective. To target a Streetgrinder, align the Avatar with it to make its information window appear on the top of the screen. Should its Health Bar reach zero when battling it, the Fusion Matter animating the Streetgrinder will break up, and the Streetgrinder will disintegrate.[2] The player will then automatically receive some Fusion Matter and Taros as reward. However, while the Streetgrinder's Taro reward remains consistent, its Fusion Matter reward will decrease for each level the Avatar is above the Streetgrinder; if the Avatar is six levels higher than the Streetgrinder or more, no Fusion Matter is rewarded. Sometimes, the player also automatically receives loot from defeated Streetgrinders in the form of C.R.A.T.E.s, Nano Potions, and Weapon Boosts.

In battle, the Streetgrinders target the Avatar when they get close enough. However, the higher the Avatar's level is, the closer they can get to a Streetgrinder without it attacking them. Once they begin fighting, the Streetgrinders will continue attacking until either they are destroyed, the Avatar is defeated, or the Avatar moves too far away from their point of origin. If the Avatar runs away from them, the Streetgrinders will follow them until they get too far away from their area of roaming, at which point they will return, where they will regain their full health instantly. Notably, while retreating, they will be invulnerable to attacks. Also, once defeated, a Streetgrinder will respawn after one hundred seconds.
