The Thuggard is an enemy that appears in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. It is a species of Fusion Monsters that is used in Fuse's Army, and one of his most advanced cybernetic warriors.[1]
Physical appearance
A Thuggard, from the Quick Start Game Guide.
The Thuggard looks like a lumbering and robotic chicken-based Fusion Monster.[1] It possesses a mostly humanoid body with dark green skin. It also has a somewhat small head with a noticeable brow, two green eyes, a curved edge-like horn on its forehead, metal covering over its mouth, and two glass cylinders filled with Fusion Matter on the back of its head. It has a large torso as well, which is covered in blue armor with brown detailing on the front and cables leading from the front collar to the back, and another glass cylinder on top of a brown apparatus on its back, the former of which is filled with Fusion Matter. It has two arms too, the upper arms of which are covered in blue armor with brown details and a gray cable leading to the forearms, which are covered in streamlined blue armor with more brown details. The forearm armor in particular can open up to reveal gun-like cannons inside them. It also has muscular digitigrade legs with blue and brown armor covering the thighs and three-toed feet with blue armor covering the ankles, prongs at the ankle joints, and dark green claws. Lastly, Fusion Matter leaks from all over its body.
Gameplay
In gameplay, the Thuggards are enemy monsters that the player fights at various points in the game, either optionally, or as a part of a mission objective. To target a Thuggard, align the Avatar with it to make its information window appear on the top of the screen. Should its Health Bar reach zero when battling it, the Fusion Matter animating the Thuggard will break up, and the Thuggard will disintegrate.[2] The player will then automatically receive some Fusion Matter and Taros as reward. However, while the Thuggard's Taro reward remains consistent, its Fusion Matter reward will decrease for each level the Avatar is above the Thuggard; if the Avatar is six levels higher than the Thuggard or more, no Fusion Matter is rewarded. Sometimes, the player also automatically receives loot from defeated Thuggards in the form of C.R.A.T.E.s, Nano Potions, and Weapon Boosts.
In battle, the Thuggards target the Avatar when they get close enough. However, the higher the Avatar's level is, the closer they can get to a Thuggard without it attacking them. Once they begin fighting, the Thuggards will continue attacking until either they are destroyed, the Avatar is defeated, or the Avatar moves too far away from their point of origin. If the Avatar runs away from them, the Thuggards will follow them until they get too far away from their area of roaming, at which point they will return, where they will regain their full health instantly. Notably, while retreating, they will be invulnerable to attacks. Also, once defeated, a Thuggard will respawn after one hundred seconds.

Behavior
Like other Fusion Monsters, the Thuggards are aggressive, hostile, and spit out Fusion Matter wherever they go.
Powers and abilities
Skills the Thuggards have exhibited include:
- Energy Projection: The Thuggards can fire blasts of green energy.
- Fusion Matter Explosion: The Thuggards possess the Eruption Attack, which lets them create a localized explosion of Fusion Matter from the ground. When launching this attack, the Thuggards make the ground below their opponent glow with Fusion Matter for a few seconds before causing a pillar of Fusion Matter to erupt.
- Nano Drain: The Thuggards possess the Corruption Attack, which lets them drain Nanos of their stamina. When they are attacking a Nano, they will start to glow, which is the wind up, before throwing an attack that will trump their opponent's Nano. Should it make contact, the Nano will lose a lot of stamina. Conversely, if their opponent drops their current Nano and brings out one that deflects the attack back at the Thuggards, the Nano will get a boost in stamina. Should the Thuggards launch their Corruption Attack on an opponent without a Nano out though, the former will take damage.
- Potion Consumption: The Thuggards possess the Battery Drain, which lets them launch attacks that can drain the Avatar's supply of Nano Potions and Weapon Boosts by a certain amount.
