The Fusionfly is a Fusion Monster based on the common housefly. Described as "kind of pretty",[2] it has a round black head with wide and featureless red eyes, spiky stubs on its scalp, and a gray jaw with sharp teeth. Its thorax, on the other hand, is swollen from Fusion Matter inside it, with segments of a brown shell with stubs on it on its back, a chest area made of pale gray rocks, and four legs made from branches with a gray claw on each end attached to the thorax. Additionally, it has two sets of dark green and tattered[1] wings with holes in them and Fusion Matter patch on them. Lastly, there is its abdomen, which is long and bloated from the Fusion Matter inside it. It has gray segments along it, and a growth filled with Fusion Matter at the tip.

Gameplay

In gameplay, the Fusionflies are enemy monsters that the player fights at various points in the game, either optionally, or as a part of a mission objective. To target a Fusionfly, align the Avatar with it to make its information window appear on the top of the screen. Should its Health Bar reach zero when battling it, the Fusion Matter animating the Fusionfly will break up, and the Fusionfly will disintegrate.[3] The player will then automatically receive some Fusion Matter and Taros as reward. However, while the Fusionfly's Taro reward remains consistent, its Fusion Matter reward will decrease for each level the Avatar is above the Fusionfly. Sometimes, the player also automatically receives loot from defeated Fusionflies in the form of C.R.A.T.E.s, Nano Potions, and Weapon Boosts.

In battle, the Fusionflies target the Avatar when they get close enough. However, the higher the Avatar's level is, the closer they can get to a Fusionfly without it attacking them. Once they begin fighting, the Fusionflies will continue attacking until either they are destroyed, the Avatar is defeated, or the Avatar moves too far away from their point of origin. If the Avatar runs away from them, the Fusionflies will follow them until they get too far away from their area of roaming, at which point they will return, where they will regain their full health instantly. Notably, while retreating, they will be invulnerable to attacks. Also, once defeated, a Fusionfly will respawn after one hundred and fifty seconds.
