The Spooka is an enemy that appears in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. It is a species of Fusion Monsters that is used in Fuse's Army.
Physical appearance
A Spooka, from the Quick Start Game Guide.
The Spooka is a humanoid Fusion Monster that some would arguably say looks almost cute.[2] It is short and round,[2] with an equally spherical head and torso. It also wears a white cloth with a ghostly tail hanging down from the top of its head and torn edges around the shoulders that showcases menacing and featureless red eyes, a dopey smile[2] made of Fusion Matter and square teeth on its lower jaw, and a wicked little face.[2] It also has a black torso and long arms with sharp fingers, all of which have patches of Fusion Matter on them. It also has black and white-stribed pants held in place with brown suspenders over its shoulders, and stubby legs with brown shoes on its feet. Said shoes have light brown cuffs, upturned and pointy toes, and dark brown tongues. Curiously, it also has a Fusion Matter-composed heart that beats out of its chest from time to time.
Gameplay
In gameplay, the Spookas are enemy monsters that the player can fight at various points in the game, either optionally, or as a part of a mission objective. To target a Spooka, align the Avatar with it to make its information window appear on the top of the screen. Should its Health Bar reach zero when battling it, the Fusion Matter animating the Spooka will break up, and the Spooka will disintegrate.[3] The player will then automatically receive some Fusion Matter and Taros as reward. However, while the Spooka's Taro reward remains consistent, its Fusion Matter reward will decrease for each level the Avatar is above the Spooka; if the Avatar is six levels higher than the Spooka or more, no Fusion Matter is rewarded. Sometimes, the player also automatically receives loot from defeated Spookas in the form of C.R.A.T.E.s, Nano Potions, and Weapon Boosts.
In battle, the Spookas target the Avatar when they get close enough. However, the higher the Avatar's level is, the closer they can get to a Spooka without it attacking them. Once they begin fighting, the Spookas will continue attacking until either they are destroyed, the Avatar is defeated, or the Avatar moves too far away from their point of origin. If the Avatar runs away from them, the Spookas will follow them until they get too far away from their area of roaming, at which point they will return, where they will regain their full health instantly. Notably, while retreating, they will be invulnerable to attacks. Also, once defeated, a Spooka will respawn after seventy seconds.

Behavior
Like other Fusion Monsters, the Spookas are aggressive, hostile, and spit out Fusion Matter wherever they go. Despite appearing lovable, these monsters are supernaturally evil and are driven by the long-lost loves they are still searching for, meaning they will not like it if someone gets in the way.[3]
Powers and abilities
Skills the Spookas have exhibited include:
- Evolution: As a Spooka's anger and frustration grow, it will eventually turn into a Spinetingler.[4]
- Nano Drain: Spookas are experts at the Corruption Attack,[2] which lets them drain Nanos of their stamina. When they are attacking a Nano, they will start to glow, which is the wind up, before throwing an attack that will trump their opponent's Nano. Should it make contact, the Nano will lose a lot of stamina. Conversely, if their opponent drops their current Nano and brings out one that deflects the attack back at the Spookas, the Nano will get a boost in stamina. Should the Spookas launch their Corruption Attack on an opponent without a Nano out though, the former will take damage.
