The Newspaper Assassin is an enemy that appears in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. It is a species of Fusion Monsters that is used in Fuse's Army, and the boss version of the Newspaper Ninjas.
Physical appearance
Essentially a larger version of the Newspaper Ninja, the Newspaper Assassin is a tall, very humanoid Fusion Monster. It has a spindly physique with a body made of Fusion Matter and attire made of gray newspapers that resemble the typical shinobi shōzoku, complete with shoes, pants, a sleeveless coat, wristbands, gauntlets, and cloth wrapped around its face, exposing only two green eyes. On it back, it also carries a very large, four-pointed shuriken made of newspaper and Fusion Matter.
Gameplay
In gameplay, the Newspaper Assassins are enemy monsters that the player can fight at various points in the game. To target a Newspaper Assassin, align the Avatar with it to make its information window appear on the top of the screen. Should its Health Bar reach zero when battling it, the Fusion Matter animating the Newspaper Assassin will break up, and the Newspaper Assassin will disintegrate.[1] The player will then automatically receive some Fusion Matter and Taros as reward. However, while the Newspaper Assassin's Taro reward remains consistent, its Fusion Matter reward will decrease for each level the Avatar is above the Newspaper Assassin; if the Avatar is six levels higher than the Newspaper Assassin, no Fusion Matter is rewarded. Sometimes, the player also automatically receives loot from defeated Newspaper Assassins in the form of C.R.A.T.E.s, Nano Potions, and Weapon Boosts.
In battle, the Newspaper Assassins target the Avatar when they get close enough. However, the higher the Avatar's level is, the closer they can get to a Newspaper Assassin without it attacking them. Once they begin fighting, the Newspaper Assassins will continue attacking until either they are destroyed, the Avatar is defeated, or the Avatar moves too far away from their point of origin. If the Avatar runs away from them, the Newspaper Assassins will follow them until they get too far away from their area of roaming, at which point they will return, where they will regain their full health instantly. Notably, while retreating, they will be invulnerable to attacks. Also, once defeated, a Newspaper Assassin will respawn after seventy seconds.

In the Past, the Newspaper Assassins would fight the soldiers opposing the Fusion Invasion.
Behavior
Like other Fusion Monsters, the Newspaper Assassins are aggressive, hostile, and spit out Fusion Matter wherever they go.
