The Fullblade Mantis is an enemy that appears in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. It is a species of Fusion Monsters that is used in Fuse's Army, and the boss version of the Bladed Mantises.
Physical appearance
Essentially a larger version of the Bladed Mantis, the Fullblade Mantis is a mantis-based Fusion Monster made of leaves and other withered plants. It possesses a narrow head with brown-orange mandibles, large red eyes, and two plant stem-like antennae. The rest of its body is made of Fusion Matter contained inside a body made of twigs and leaves. It also possesses a thin red-brown prothorax with two pair of arms: one large pair on top and a tiny pair on the bottom. Notably, its top arms are serrated with very large brown leaves for raptorial forelegs while its lower arms have exceptionally tiny claws for raptorial forelegs by comparison. It also has four insectoid legs with sharp ends and light brown cover on top of them, and a very large abdomen that resembles a brown plant bud, but with a center made of Fusion Matter.
Gameplay
In gameplay, the Fullblade Mantises are enemy monsters that the player can fight at various points in the game. To target a Fullblade Mantis, align the Avatar with it to make its information window appear on the top of the screen. Should its Health Bar reach zero when battling it, the Fusion Matter animating the Fullblade Mantis will break up, and the Fullblade Mantis will disintegrate.[1] The player will then automatically receive some Fusion Matter and Taros as reward. However, while the Fullblade Mantis's Taro reward remains consistent, its Fusion Matter reward will decrease for each level the Avatar is above the Fullblade Mantis; if the Avatar is six levels higher than the Fullblade Mantis or more, no Fusion Matter is rewarded. Sometimes, the player also automatically receives loot from defeated Fullblade Mantises in the form of C.R.A.T.E.s, Nano Potions, and Weapon Boosts.
In battle, the Fullblade Mantises target the Avatar when they get close enough. However, the higher the Avatar's level is, the closer they can get to a Fullblade Mantis without it attacking them. Once they begin fighting, the Fullblade Mantises will continue attacking until either they are destroyed, the Avatar is defeated, or the Avatar moves too far away from their point of origin. If the Avatar runs away from them, the Fullblade Mantises will follow them until they get too far away from their area of roaming, at which point they will return, where they will regain their full health instantly. Notably, while retreating, they will be invulnerable to attacks. Also, once defeated, a Fullblade Mantis will respawn after one hundred and fifty seconds.
History
Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall
Fusion Invasion
The Past
In the Past, the Fullblade Mantises would fight the soldiers opposing the Fusion Invasion.
Behavior
Like other Fusion Monsters, the Fullblade Mantises are aggressive, hostile, and spit out Fusion Matter wherever they go.
Powers and abilities
Skills the Fullblade Mantises have exhibited include:
- Fusion Matter Explosion: The Fullblade Mantises possess the Eruption Attack, which lets them create a localized explosion of Fusion Matter from the ground. When launching this attack, the Fullblade Mantises make the ground below their opponent glow with Fusion Matter for a few seconds before causing a pillar of Fusion Matter to erupt.
- Nano Drain: The Fullblade Mantises possess the Corruption Attack, which lets them drain Nanos of their stamina. When they are attacking a Nano, they will start to glow, which is the wind up, before throwing an attack that will trump their opponent's Nano. Should it make contact, the Nano will lose a lot of stamina. Conversely, if their opponent drops their current Nano and brings out one that deflects the attack back at the Fullblade Mantises, the Nano will get a boost in stamina. Should the Fullblade Mantises launch their Corruption Attack on an opponent without a Nano out though, the former will take damage.
