The Arch Welder is an enemy that appears in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. It is a species of Fusion Monsters that is used in Fuse's Army.
Physical appearance
An Arch Welder, from the Quick Start Game Guide.
The Arch Welder is a surprisingly humanoid Fusion Monster. Possessing a very human base body made of Fusion Matter, it wears a brown hood over its head and a brown welding visor possessing a bolted black edge and red eye visor over its face. It also possesses a grayish white shirt with rolled up sleeves, dark blue work jumpers with the upper part wrapped around its waist and brown kneepads, and brown shoes with lines of Fusion Matter along its toes. Most notably though are the large brown welding gloves they wear on their four-fingered hands. Those gloves have lines of Fusion Matter along their fingers, black welding nozzles on their fingertips, extremely thick wrist bands with screw-like bolts keeping them in place, black cuffs, and a pair of gray tanks with red stribes attached on top of their cuffs with veins of Fusion Matter feeding them into the gloves. In addition, the gloves are connected to a large gray cylinder tank that the Arch Welder wears on its back by dark gray cables. Lastly, it has patches of Fusion Matter leaking all over its body, with what appears to be green mist emitting from the bottom of its welder visor, gloves, and pants cuffs.
Gameplay
In gameplay, the Arch Welders are enemy monsters that the player fights at various points in the game, either optionally, or as a part of a mission objective. To target an Arch Welder, align the Avatar with it to make its information window appear on the top of the screen. Should its Health Bar reach zero when battling it, the Fusion Matter animating the Arch Welder will break up, and the Arch Welder will disintegrate.[2] The player will then automatically receive some Fusion Matter and Taros as reward. However, while the Arch Welder's Taro reward remains consistent, its Fusion Matter reward will decrease for each level the Avatar is above the Arch Welder; if the Avatar is six levels higher than the Arch Welder or higher, no Fusion Matter is rewarded. Sometimes, the player also automatically receives loot from defeated Arch Welders in the form of C.R.A.T.E.s, Nano Potions, and Weapon Boosts.
In battle, the Arch Welders target the Avatar when they get close enough. However, the higher the Avatar's level is, the closer they can get to an Arch Welder without it attacking them. Once they begin fighting, the Arch Welders will continue attacking until either they are destroyed, the Avatar is defeated, or the Avatar moves too far away from their point of origin. If the Avatar runs away from them, the Arch Welders will follow them until they get too far away from their area of roaming, at which point they will return, where they will regain their full health instantly. Notably, while retreating, they will be invulnerable to attacks. Also, once defeated, an Arch Welder will respawn after one hundred seconds.

In the Past, the Arch Welders would fight the soldiers opposing the Fusion Invasion.
Behavior
Like other Fusion Monsters, the Arch Welders are aggressive, hostile, and spit out Fusion Matter wherever they go. Having nothing to do with their skills or fancy tools since the construction of Morbucks Towers ceased, they have taken to using the former on anyone who passes by in unmentionable ways.[1]
Powers and abilities
Skills the Arch Welders have exhibited include:
- Energy Projection: The Arch Welders can fire blasts of green energy.
- Fusion Matter Explosion: The Arch Welders possess the Eruption Attack, which lets them create a localized explosion of Fusion Matter from the ground. When launching this attack, the Arch Welders make the ground below their opponent glow with Fusion Matter for a few seconds before causing a pillar of Fusion Matter to erupt.
- Nano Drain: The Arch Welders possess the Corruption Attack, which lets them drain Nanos of their stamina. When they are attacking a Nano, they will start to glow, which is the wind up, before throwing an attack that will trump their opponent's Nano. Should it make contact, the Nano will lose a lot of stamina. Conversely, if their opponent drops their current Nano and brings out one that deflects the attack back at the Arch Welders, the Nano will get a boost in stamina. Should the Arch Welders launch their Corruption Attack on an opponent without a Nano out though, the former will take damage.
- Potion Consumption: The Arch Welders possess the Battery Drain, which lets them launch attacks that can drain the Avatar's supply of Nano Potions and Weapon Boosts by a certain amount.
