The Volcano Toad is an enemy that appears in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. It is a species of Fusion Monsters that is used in Fuse's Army.
Physical appearance

The Volcano Toad is a giant, toad-based Fusion Monster. As its name implies, it possesses a toad-like body, but with a thick and stubby tail. Its legs are made up of uprooted brown tree trunks, and its head resembles a toad's that is made of red earth, complete with a wide mouth, a wrinkled face, and two featureless red eyes. Its torso on the other hand resembles a section of uprooted earth with lava veins on its underbelly, green grass around the edges on the sides, and a small, gray-colored volcano with lava spewing out of it on its back. Lastly, it has patches of Fusion Matter all over its body.
Gameplay
In gameplay, the Volcano Toads are enemy monsters that the player fights at various points in the game, either optionally, or as a part of a mission objective. To target a Volcano Toad, align the Avatar with it to make its information window appear on the top of the screen. Should its Health Bar reach zero when battling it, the Fusion Matter animating the Volcano Toad will break up, and the Volcano Toad will disintegrate.[2] The player will then automatically receive some Fusion Matter and Taros as reward. However, while the Volcano Toad's Taro reward remains consistent, its Fusion Matter reward will decrease for each level the Avatar is above the Volcano Toad; if the Avatar is six levels higher than the Volcano Toad or more, no Fusion Matter is rewarded. Sometimes, the player also automatically receives loot from defeated Volcano Toads in the form of C.R.A.T.E.s, Nano Potions, and Weapon Boosts.
In battle, the Volcano Toads target the Avatar when they get close enough. However, the higher the Avatar's level is, the closer they can get to a Volcano Toad without it attacking them. Once they begin fighting, the Volcano Toads will continue attacking until either they are destroyed, the Avatar is defeated, or the Avatar moves too far away from their point of origin. If the Avatar runs away from them, the Volcano Toads will follow them until they get too far away from their area of roaming, at which point they will return, where they will regain their full health instantly. Notably, while retreating, they will be invulnerable to attacks. Also, once defeated, a Volcano Toad will respawn after one hundred and fifty seconds.

In the Past, the Volcano Toads were forged from the earth.[1] In addition to being used by Fuse's blacksmiths in their forges,[1] they would also fight the soldiers opposing the Fusion Invasion.
Behavior
Like other Fusion Monsters, the Volcano Toads are aggressive, hostile, and spit out Fusion Matter wherever they go.
Powers and abilities
Skills the Volcano Toads have exhibited include:
- Fusion Matter Explosion: The Volcano Toads possess the Eruption Attack, which lets them create a localized explosion of Fusion Matter from the ground. When launching this attack, the Volcano Toads make the ground below their opponent glow with Fusion Matter for a few seconds before causing a pillar of Fusion Matter to erupt.
- Nano Drain: The Volcano Toads possess the Corruption Attack, which lets them drain Nanos of their stamina. When they are attacking a Nano, they will start to glow, which is the wind up, before throwing an attack that will trump their opponent's Nano. Should it make contact, the Nano will lose a lot of stamina. Conversely, if their opponent drops their current Nano and brings out one that deflects the attack back at the Volcano Toads, the Nano will get a boost in stamina. Should the Volcano Toads launch their Corruption Attack on an opponent without a Nano out though, the former will take damage.
- Stun Inducement: The Volcano Toads possess the Stun - Cone power, which can immobilize their opponents completely for a few moments.
