The Wild Bossfish is an enemy that appears in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. It is a species of Fusion Monsters that is used in Fuse's Army, and the boss version of the Wild Cogfishes.
Physical appearance
Essentially a larger version of the Wild Cogfish, the Wild Bossfish is a piranha-based Fusion Monster. It has a medium-long and narrow body with rusty metal plating covering its Fusion Matter-based innards. Notably, it also has a pale yellow tailfin, a tall dorsal fin with pale yellow webbing, and a long pelvic fin with pale yellow webbing as well, all three of which have violet edges on their webbings. At the joints of its pectoral fins, which are yellow with Fusion Matter-based webbings, it also has a yellow buzzsaw blade, each inserted inside its body. As for its face, it has a smaller buzzsaw blade for a jaw joint, a long beak-like mouth with serrated teeth, a blue fin on top of its ridge, and a pair of red eyes with black pupils.
Gameplay
In gameplay, the Wild Bossfishes are enemy monsters that the player can fight at various points in the game. To target a Wild Bossfish, align the Avatar with it to make its information window appear on the top of the screen. Should its Health Bar reach zero when battling it, the Fusion Matter animating the Wild Bossfish will break up, and the Wild Bossfish will disintegrate.[1] The player will then automatically receive some Fusion Matter and Taros as reward. However, while the Wild Bossfish's Taro reward remains consistent, its Fusion Matter reward will decrease for each level the Avatar is above the Wild Bossfish; if the Avatar is six levels higher than the Wild Bossfish or more, no Fusion Matter is rewarded. Sometimes, the player also automatically receives loot from defeated Wild Bossfishes in the form of C.R.A.T.E.s, Nano Potions, and Weapon Boosts.
In battle, the Wild Bossfishes target the Avatar when they get close enough. However, the higher the Avatar's level is, the closer they can get to a Wild Bossfish without it attacking them. Once they begin fighting, the Wild Bossfishes will continue attacking until either they are destroyed, the Avatar is defeated, or the Avatar moves too far away from their point of origin. If the Avatar runs away from them, the Wild Bossfishes will follow them until they get too far away from their area of roaming, at which point they will return, where they will regain their full health instantly. Notably, while retreating, they will be invulnerable to attacks. Also, once defeated, a Wild Bossfish will respawn after one hundred seconds.
History
Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall
Fusion Invasion
The Past
In the Past, the Wild Bossfishes would fight the soldiers opposing the Fusion Invasion.
Behavior
Like other Fusion Monsters, the Wild Bossfishes are aggressive, hostile, and spit out Fusion Matter wherever they go.
Powers and abilities
Skills the Wild Bossfishes have exhibited include:
- Fusion Matter Explosion: The Wild Bossfishes possess the Eruption Attack, which lets them create a localized explosion of Fusion Matter from the ground. When launching this attack, the Wild Bossfishes make the ground below their opponent glow with Fusion Matter for a few seconds before causing a pillar of Fusion Matter to erupt.
- Levitation: The Wild Bossfishes are able to float and move around in midair.
- Potion Consumption: The Wild Bossfishes possess the Battery Drain, which lets them launch attacks that can drain the Avatar's supply of Nano Potions and Weapon Boosts by a certain amount.
