A large Terrafuser inside Pokey Oaks Junior High, from OpenFusion.
The Terrafuser[1] is an object that appears in the Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall franchise. They are alien bio-machines[2][3] associated with Planet Fusion. Immovable and nearly indestructible, they are used by Lord Fuse's minions to create Fusion Matter-derived lifeforms and infect entire planets with Fusion Matter for their absorption into Planet Fusion.[1][4]
Physical appearance
A newly-made Terrafuser. from FusionFall: Worlds Collide.
Terrafusers are tree-like and bulbous bio-based machines. Their overall composition is maleable and gelatinous.[5] They come in varying sizes, ranging from being as small as soccer balls, to as large as a house. They are often low to the ground, where they embed themselves via dark green roots sprawling from their bottom and up along their bulbous forms, but some can have tree-trunk like structures that protrude them far beyond their given surface.[4] Terrafusers tend to give off green mists and bubbles, and some even display faint white surges.
History
FusionFall: Worlds Collide
The first Terrafusers arriving at the Earth, from FusionFall: Worlds Collide.
Prior to the Fusion Invasion, three Terrafusers crash-landed in Foster's Home, Sector V, and Goat's Junk Yard on the Earth, respectively. Having set themselves up, they began spawning Fusion Spawns. While various people fought the spawns, the two minor Terrafusers at Foster's Home and Goat's Junk Yard linked up with "Terrafuser Alpha" in Sector V and began powering it up. Though the Terrafusers came under attack by various individuals, they just kept regenerating from their attempts to destroy them. Terrafuser Alpha in particular soon lashed out at Blossom and Bubbles, but Dexter foiled its attempt.[6]
Eventually, all three Terrafusers came under attack by an alliance of heroes and villains assembled by Dexter, their plan being to occupy the two minor Terrafusers so they could not regenerate and provide power to Terrafuser Alpha, thus leaving the latter vulnerable to an attack from Dexter's Eletro-Pluse Cannon. Though the minor Terrafusers would shut down from the constant attacks, the alliance was too late in destroying Terrafuser Alpha, allowing it to become operational and send off an energy blast into space that disabled the alliance's DexCarrier, just before the Eletro-Pluse Cannon blew it up. Having been beaconed to the Earth's location thanks to the energy blast, Planet Fusion arrived soon after while Terrafuser Alpha began rebuilding itself.[6]

Fusion Invasion
The Future
In the Future, Terrafusers had spread everywhere across the remains of the Earth where they were used by Lord Fuse's minions to spread Fusion Matter across the planet.[1] Amidst the ongoing Fusion Invasion, the areas where the Terrafusers had gone out of control with their infection were contained with energy shields by SACT, creating Infected Zones.[7][8] Within them, Pods, which would grow into Terrafusers, would form rapidly, leaving it to the soldiers in the war to constantly gather them up and dispose of them before the infection and Infected Zones could spread further.[7][9]
One Terrafuser in Tech Square would spawn Fusion Spawns and a Jumbo Fusion Spawn to attack the Avatar, Ben, and Numbuh Five during the battle for Tech Square.
The Past
Megas trapped in Fusion Matter produced by a Terrafuser attached to it, from OpenFusion.
In the Past, Terrafusers began landing everywhere on the Earth, breaking down the environment and creating a minefield of platforms and pitfalls.[10] Amidst the ensuing Fusion Invasion, the areas where the Terrafusers had gone out of control with their infection were contained with energy shields by SACT, creating Infected Zones.[7] Within them, Pods, which would grow into Terrafusers, would form rapidly, leaving it to the soldiers in the war to constantly gather them up and dispose of them before the infection and Infected Zones could spread further.[9][7]
FusionFall Heroes
Gumball attacking a Terrafuser, from FusionFall Heroes.
During the Fusion Invasion, various heroes and villains formed small, co-op fireteams to assault the Fusion spawning grounds,[11] including the local Terrafusers, which kept spawning Fusion Monsters. Empowered by Dextronium,[11] the teams were able to permanently destroy any Terrafusers they came across.
Properties
Properties the Terrafusers have exhibited include:
A Terrafuser creating Fusion Spawns, from OpenFusion.
- Beacon Emission: When properly powered up, a Terrafuser can produce a beacon signal for Planet Fusion in the form of an immense energy beam powerful enough to take down a DexCarrier by just grazing it.[12]
- Fusion Matter Creation: Terrafusers are the primary source of toxic Fusion Matter on foreign planets, capable of generating and spreading enough Fusion Matter to infect an entire planet, thereby priming it for absorption by Planet Fusion.[1]
- Environment Destruction: As a product of the Fusion Matter they create, Terrafusers can break down the environment, creating minefields of platforms and pitfalls.[10]
- Fusion Monster Creation: When matured, a Terrafuser can spawn Fusion Monsters from its own mass,[4] such as Fusion Spawns and Jumbo Fusion Spawns.
- Link Inducement: Terrafusers can link themselves together via their roots and empower each other.[3]
- Regeneration: Terrafusers are virtually indestructible thanks to a highly effective regeneration factor. Their gelatinous masses make brute force useless against them, and they can instantly reconstitute and restore themselves from any attack that does disform them.[13] Even when blown to pieces by the Electro-Pulse Cannon, a Terrafuser was able to start rebuilding itself.[14] Still, the Terrafusers' regeneration factors are not without limits. Notable, this ability can be overtaxed, causing its Terrafuser to shut down for seemingly a while.[15] In addition, an Eyebore's Eye can permanently disable their inner workings.[13] It also appears that attacks empowered by Dextronium can permanently destroy them.[11]
- Replication: Like plants, Terrafusers are able to multiply by producing seedlings, which will turn into mini-Terrafusers.[2]
- Space Travel: Terrafusers are capable of space travel for priming new targets for Planet Fusion. For this purpose, they are quite hardy of nature, being capable of breaking through the Earth's atmosphere, crash-landing on the surface, and quickly setting themselves up in a matter of moments.[16]
- Surface Hanging: Terrafusers can attach themselves to seeming any surface, regardless of angel.
- Immovability: Once a Terrafuser has set itself up, it cannot be moved by any physical force. However, they can still be removed if they have yet to reach full maturity.
- Tentacle Manifestation: If attacked, a Terrafuser can defend itself by growing tentacles for attacking the threat.[5]
Trivia
- There are no Terrafusers in the Infected Zones of the Fissure, the Sweet Revenge, Loch Mess, and the Crystalline Caverns.
- Galaxy Gardens is the only place where the Terrafusers appear to be moving.
