The "Your Health" indicator on the NanoCom showchasing the Avatar's level, from OpenFusion.
Level[1] is a game mechanic that appears in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. It represents the Avatar's progression throughout the game in the form of a number that marks their overall skill and experience, as well as the strength of monsters. The higher an Avatar's level is, the more content in the game will become available to the player and the greater will their chances be in combat. A maximum of thirty-six can be achieved in gameplay.
Gameplay
In gameplay, the level mechanic is based on the typical level-based progression from the common RPG video games. The level mechanic is primarily applied to two types of entities in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall: the Avatar and the monsters they fight. Visually, it is represented as a natural number illustrated in the "Your Health" indicator on the NanoCom or on the Character Screen for the Avatar and in the info window on the HUD for monsters.
After acquiring enough Fusion Matter, the Avatar will level up, which increases their health, allows usage of higher-leveled Items, and unlocks new Missions, from OpenFusion.
The level for the Avatar represents their overall skill level and the game content available to them. By gathering Fusion Matter, the player will basically be increasing their experience; accumulating enough Fusion Matter will allow the Avatar to "level up",[2] which increases the Avatar's level. When that happens, an orange column of light will briefly surround the Avatar. A level for the Avatar in combat impacts their "Vs. One", "Vs. Many" and "Defense" stats, along with the items used to change those values; the higher one's level is, the better are the items that the player is allowed to equip to Avatar and the better they will be in a fight. Notably, the Avatar is allowed to use any item whose level requirement is equal to, or lower than the Avatar's, but if the Avatar's level does not meet the minimum level requirement, the item cannot be equipped.[2][3][4] Increasing an Avatar's level also increases their Health Bar. For each new level the Avatar gains, new missions will become available to them too. Conversely, if the Avatar's level is too low, certain missions will not be available until the minimum level requirement is met.[5] An Avatar can increase their level up to a maximum of thirty-six. Leveling up will also fully heal the Avatar.
Originally, the player would gain a level whenever they completed a Nano Mission, which would be unlocked whenever the Fusion Matter Meter was filled up. Following an update though, the Avatar would immediately gain a level whenever the Fusion Matter Meter was filled up.
For monsters, such as Fusion Monsters and Fusions, the level mechanic is used to represent how strong each monster is. The higher the level, the stronger the monster. Though it is possible to defeat any monster in the game at any level, the smaller the level gap is between the Avatar and the monster, the greater will the player's chance of victory in combat with it be. The highest level for a monster in the game is thirty-six, much like the Avatar's.
