The Time Machine in the Time Lab, from OpenFusion.
The Time Machine is an object in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. It is device created by Dexter that allows jumps through time.[1] When the Avatar volunteered for an experiment with the Time Machine however, a freak accident sent them into a distant future where the Earth was on the verge of being absorbed by Planet Fusion. In order to prevent this future from happening, the remaining heroes and their allies united to repair the Time Machine and sent the Avatar back to the Past with it to change history.
Physical appearance
The interior of the Time Machine in DexLabs headquarters, from OpenFusion.
The original edition of the Time Machine has not been fully revealed. However, it is known that the Time Machine was originally designed as a capsule.[1] The interior of this "time capsule" is a metallic blue room with a circular ring inside it that has green holographic markers on it in the image of hour markers. These markers have the roman numerals one to twelve on them, like a clock. Inside the aforementioned ring is also a sealed door with the DexLabs logo on it. In front of said door is also a holographic video link to the outside. Other parts of its design included a main engine and a monitor for the traveler.[2][3]
The rebuild edition of the Time Machine in the Future was designed more like a gateway than a capsule. It consists mainly of a mechanical hemisphere standing upright with a green screen inside said hemisphere that curiously enough displays the same text lines as the ones on the holographic screens for Resurrect 'Ems outside Infected Zones. It also has four inward metallic prongs on the edges and two antennae on the top with electricity running between them at the tips. It also has an outer metallic ring around its hemisphere that is slightly more slanted that the surface of the hemisphere that resembles the clock ring inside the original edition of the Time Machine. Lastly, it has a walkway leading up to the green screen.
Gameplay
The Time Machine in the Time Lab, from OpenFusion.
In gameplay, the Time Machine is an interactable object that is needed for the player to transition from the Future to the Past. It is available inside the Time Lab, which is unlocked once the player has acquired the four available Nanos in the Future.
When interacting with the Time Machine, the player is given the options "WARP TO THE PAST" or "EXIT". If the player chooses the former, they will be transferred to a new menu where they can either reaffirm their choice with the "WARP TO THE PAST" option, or withdraw from using the Time Machine with the "CANCEL" option. Notably, if the player chooses to go to the Past, then they will be unable to return to the Future. In addition, any active missions in their Journal will be removed upon their arrival.
History
Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall
Before the Invasion
Before the Fusion Invasion, the Avatar would volunteer for an important time travel experiment in DexLabs headquarters with the Time Machine. After getting into the Time Machine, the Avatar was contacted by Dexter via holo-link and instructed to input their profile on their monitor before the experiment could commence. With Computress confirming afterwards that trans-temporal communication had been established as well, the Time Machine was ready to sent the Avatar into the future. Firing up its main engine, Dexter was pleased with its initial readings. However, Dee Dee had snuck in and soon pressed a button that messed up the timejump sequence and sent the Avatar much further into the future than intended.

The Future
The broken remains of the Time Machine in Tech Square, from OpenFusion.
In the Future, the Avatar awoke to find the Time Machine destroyed after having taken them to this time period. As the Avatar met up with Dexter, the latter quickly explained his plan of repairing the Time Machine so they could sent the Avatar back to the Past so they could avert this future where the Earth was on the losing edge of the Fusion Invasion.
After the Avatar and the remaining heroes had escaped the battle of Tech Square, they went to work repairing the Time Machine. With Mandark and Numbuh Two at the helm of this project,[1] the Avatar would gather 2x4 materials for Numbuh Two,[4] recover a scattered Synchronization Engine from Fusion Monsters,[5] acquire some "Future Paste" reparation material from Eddy,[6] collect a synchronized Temporal Stone from Samurai Jack,[7] and find the head of Larry 3000.[8] With these components, the Time Machine was repaired by the time the Avatar had acquired four Nanos. With the machine having been set up in the Time Lab, the Avatar soon arrived there and used the device to go back in time.
Powers and abilities
- Time Travel: The Time Machine is able to transfer people through time, which is referred to as "timejumps".[9] The original edition of the Time Machine, however, needed a bio-scan of the traveler before any time travel could commence.[3][10]
