Fusion Chowder is an enemy that appears in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. He is the Fusion counterpart of Chowder.

Physical appearance

A Fusion clone of Chowder, Fusion Chowder is a large and chubby anthropomorphic hybrid of a cat, a bear, and a rabbit, with a body made of Fusion Matter. He has a tiny dark nose, short fangs, a small tail with a stripe on it, and featureless and menacing red eyes. For attire, he wears a dark purple hat with two puffy points, a dark pink sweatshirt covered by a dark purple jacket, dark purple pants, and dark purple shoes.

Gameplay

In gameplay, Fusion Chowder is a boss fought in his different Fusion Lairs during certain missions. To target Fusion Chowder, align the Avatar with him to make his information window appear on the top of the screen. Should his Health Bar reach zero when battling him, the Fusion Matter animating Fusion Chowder will break up, and Fusion Chowder will disintegrate.^[1] The player will then automatically receive some Fusion Matter and Taros as reward. However, while Fusion Chowder's Taro reward remains consistent, his Fusion Matter reward will decrease for each level the Avatar is above Fusion Chowder; if the Avatar is six levels higher than Fusion Chowder or more, no Fusion Matter is rewarded. Sometimes, the player also automatically receives loot from defeating Fusion Chowder in the form of C.R.A.T.E.s, Nano Potions, and Weapon Boosts.

In battle, Fusion Chowder targets the Avatar when they get close enough. However, the higher the Avatar's level is, the closer they can get to Fusion Chowder without him attacking them. Once they begin fighting, Fusion Chowder will continue attacking until either he is destroyed, the Avatar is defeated, or the Avatar moves too far away from his point of origin. If the Avatar runs away from him, Fusion Chowder will follow them until he gets too far away from his area of roaming, at which point he will return, where he will regain his full health instantly. Notably, while retreating, he will be invulnerable to attacks. Also, once defeated, Fusion Chowder will respawn after roughly a year.

Fusion Invasion

The Past

In the Past, Fusion Chowder was created in the Darklands, specifically in Hero's Hollow.^[2]

While in the Suburbs, Fusion Chowder stole all the smarshmallows from the Malph's store in Pokey Oaks North before retreating into his local Fusion Lair. While within it however, he was cornered by the Avatar, who destroyed him after a quick battle.^[3]

When Chowder later ate some Fusion Matter-tainted Thrice Cream, it produced a Fusion Chowder inside of him, who began infecting Chowder's innards with Fusion Matter. This not only made Chowder's insides all funky, but also produced Poison Puckerberries that took over the domain of Sour Ron and his Puckerberry Overlords.^[4][5] Eventually though, Fusion Chowder was located by the Avatar while within Chowder, with the Avatar destroying him after a tough battle to purge the young chef of his infection.^[5]

Personality

Fusion Chowder has not demonstrated much of a personality. However, he appears to have an interest in food like the real Chowder and is quite creepy.^[3][5]

Powers and abilities

Fusion Chowder is among Fuse's most powerful minions and is growing stronger each day.^[2][6] Skills Fusion Chowder has exhibited include:

• Fusion Matter Explosion: Fusion Chowder possesses the Eruption Attack, which lets him create a localized explosion of Fusion Matter from the ground. When launching this attack, Fusion Chowder makes the ground below his opponent glow with Fusion Matter for a few seconds before causing a pillar of Fusion Matter to erupt.
• Nano Drain: Fusion Chowder possesses the Corruption Attack, which lets him drain Nanos of their stamina. When he is attacking a Nano, he will start to glow, which is the wind up, before throwing an attack that will trump his opponent's Nano. Should it make contact, the Nano will lose a lot of stamina. Conversely, if his opponent drops their current Nano and brings out one that deflects the attack back at Fusion Chowder, the Nano will get a boost in stamina. Should Fusion Chowder launch his Corruption Attack on an opponent without a Nano out though, the former will take damage.

Trivia

• Curiously, Fusion Chowder had gotten inside the Castle-de-Sac as seen in the FusionFall Adventures storyline, "Chowder's IncrEdible Journey". That makes him the only Fusion to have gotten around the Imaginary Energy imbedded within the cardboard that makes up the walls of the Castle-de-Sac. It is unknown if this is a loophole or an unforeseen error.
