Fusion Utonium, also known as Professor Plutonium,[1] is an enemy that appears in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. He is the Fusion counterpart of Professor Utonium.
Physical appearance
Fusion Utonium, from Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall.
A Fusion clone of Professor Utonium, Fusion Utonium is an adult, human-based creature whose body is made of Fusion Matter. Standing tall, he has short dark green hair and menacing and featureless red eyes, but no mouth. For attire, he wears a dark red lab coat over a dark green dress shirt, a black tie, black pants, and black shoes. He also has four green and black tentacles on his back that resemble the Nergal Tendrils.
Gameplay
In gameplay, Fusion Utonium is a boss fought in his different Fusion Lairs during certain missions. To target Fusion Utonium, align the Avatar with him to make his information window appear on the top of the screen. Should his Health Bar reach zero when battling him, the Fusion Matter animating Fusion Utonium will break up, and Fusion Utonium will disintegrate.[2] The player will then automatically receive some Fusion Matter and Taros as reward. However, while Fusion Utonium's Taro reward remains consistent, his Fusion Matter reward will decrease for each level the Avatar is above Fusion Utonium; if the Avatar is six levels higher than Fusion Utonium or more, no Fusion Matter is rewarded. Sometimes, the player also automatically receives loot from defeating Fusion Utonium in the form of C.R.A.T.E.s, Nano Potions, and Weapon Boosts.
In battle, Fusion Utonium targets the Avatar when they get close enough. However, the higher the Avatar's level is, the closer they can get to Fusion Utonium without him attacking them. Once they begin fighting, Fusion Utonium will continue attacking until either he is destroyed, the Avatar is defeated, or the Avatar moves too far away from his point of origin. If the Avatar runs away from him, Fusion Utonium will follow them until he gets too far away from his area of roaming, at which point he will return, where he will regain his full health instantly. Notably, while retreating, he will be invulnerable to attacks. Also, once defeated, Fusion Utonium will respawn after roughly a year.
History
Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall
Fusion Invasion
The Past
In the Past, Fusion Utonium was created in the Darklands, specifically in Hero's Hollow.[3]
Eventually, Fusion Utonium started working on making use of a new and dangerous strain of radioactive Fusion Matter. While at work inside his Fusion Lair though, he was found by the Avatar, who destroyed him in battle, which produced a Prof. Utonium Nano for the Avatar from Fusion Utonium's remains and the calculator that the Fusion had on him.[1]
Resurfacing soon after, Fusion Plutonium began experiments to unlock the secrets of the imaginary friends by bombarding Scribbles with radiation. While dwelling inside his local Fusion Lair though, Fusion Plutonium let a Fusion Monster into his lair, only for it to be revealed to be the Avatar in disguise. Soon after, Fusion Plutonium came under attack by the Avatar, who destroyed him again.[4]
Personality
Fusion Utonium is a noteworthily nasty Fusion.[1]
Powers and abilities
Fusion Utonium is among Fuse's most powerful minions and is growing stronger each day.[3][5] Skills Fusion Utonium has exhibited include:
- Energy Projection: Fusion Utonium can fire blasts of green energy.
- Fusion Matter Explosion: Fusion Utonium possesses the Eruption Attack, which lets him create a localized explosion of Fusion Matter from the ground. When launching this attack, Fusion Utonium makes the ground below his opponent glow with Fusion Matter for a few seconds before causing a pillar of Fusion Matter to erupt.
- Limited Nano Power Immunity: On occasion, Fusion Utonium possesses the Freedom - Self power, which gives him the following Nano Power immunities:
- Nano Drain: Fusion Utonium possesses the Corruption Attack, which lets him drain Nanos of their stamina. When he is attacking a Nano, he will start to glow, which is the wind up, before throwing an attack that will trump her opponent's Nano. Should it make contact, the Nano will lose a lot of stamina. Conversely, if his opponent drops their current Nano and brings out one that deflects the attack back at Fusion Utonium, the Nano will get a boost in stamina. Should Fusion Utonium launch his Corruption Attack on an opponent without a Nano out though, the former will take damage.
- Stun Inducement: On occasion, Fusion Utonium possesses the Stun - Cone power, which can immobilize his opponents completely for a few moments.
