Updates
Time Squad Part 2 Update
The Time Squad Part 2 Update was originally meant to be one update, the Time Squad update was split in two in order for the devs to fix some issues with the higher level section of the update. As such, it was planned to be the second part of Time Squad content in FusionFall Retro. While it was never released, the first part was still added.
The update would have added Buck Tuddrussel and Otto Osworth and ten Missions. Some missions would have the player return to the Future in order to fix time anomalies. Characters such as Buttercup, Eduardo and Samurai Jack were affected by these time anomalies. A Larry 3000 Nano would be available from a World Nano mission. More info on the missions for this update can be found in this document.
When the update was late into development, the progress made on it was overwritten, causing the development of it, and the rest of Retro's updates, to cease.
Pre-Expansion Update 1
The devs stated that an update would have been released a little while before the expansion in order to set up the plot for it. This update would have added Zak Saturday, Fiskerton, Komodo, Johnny Test and Dukey to Orchid Bay and Doyle to the Fireswamps with eight new missions and a rewrite of seven existing ones. The Fusion Blowfish return as enemies with Hootie being a boss. A Johnny Test Nano would be available from a World Nano mission and the Unstable Nano would have transformed into Zak Saturday.
Pre-Expansion Update 2
Another update that would have been released prior to the expansion. This update would have added V.V. Argost, Muscle Man and High Five Ghost to the Pimpleback Mountains and Mr. Black, Mr. White, Numbuh 86 and General Specific to Area 51.5 with an unknown amount of missions. The Ghostfreak Nano would finally become available from a World Nano mission. There was also going to be a promotional manga released for the update, which would've had Numbuh 86, Mr. Black, and Mr. White tell the story of how the Kids Next Door Moonbase was destroyed, and how every operative evacuated except for Numbuh 362.
Expansion Update
A map of the Wayblue Sea expansion areas, minus Mount Neverest
An expansion was planned for FusionFall Retro, which would be the first of three planned expansions. The expansion was initially planned to include two new areas with two Infected Zones, four levels, four Nanos (including Flapjack and Johnny Bravo), at least 10 NPCs, some of which were from shows not featured in the game, and several items and missions. During the expansions development, the devs decided to add more content than initially planned, and added two more areas to the expansion. They would've also modified the guide mission system so it could be used to give the player Nanos after completing a mission. In addition, the guide mission narratives would better reflect who the player was working for. If the player had Mojo Jojo as their guide, they would have to carry out immoral objectives, like helping the Puckerberry Overlords take over Bubbie's mouth.
A sequel to the beforementioned promotional manga would have been released with the expansion, and would've explained how Numbuh 362 was saved by TOM before the Absolution was dragged down to Earth by the Nowhere UFO Magnet and turned into an Infected Zone.
Foster's Update
This update would've greatly changed the Foster's Home area.
Mr. Herriman Relocation
Mr. Herriman's office and the living room would've been added to the Foster's Interior, and he would be moved to his office.
Vendor Replacement
The Plumber vendors outside of the house would've been replaced with the Screaming Space Nut Boogies.
Foster's Adoption Billboard
FFU artist Virt drew sketches for many of the Foster's Home friends with the intention that their final designs would be used on an animated billboard, which would advertise the friends up for adoption.
Foster's Dungeon
The updates primary addition would've been a dungeon based on the many rooms and corridors found within the Foster house in the show. Players could access this dungeon by using Goo as a warp. The dungeon was going to randomly generated, and the player could explore multiple rooms with branching paths and defeat Fusion versions of the imaginary friends who inhabit the house, with some of them acting as bosses. The player could also encounter rare rooms. One of these rare rooms has Boomer, who is looking for a master detective, and another would have contained a vehicle vendor who would sell unique vehicles. At the end of the dungeon, Madame Foster would've given the player a reward.
Underworld/Zoo Update
This update would have added the scrapped Townsville Zoo area and the Underworld. The Underworld would have been accessed using a warp from Habitat Homes. It would have been a very high level area. It's likely that Aku would've been involved with the Underworld in some way. Adam Lyon would be added to Habitat Homes and Him would have been moved there too. Boomer, Jackie Khones and Jake Spidermonkey would appear at Townsville Zoo.
Second Expansion
A second expansion was planned, and would've included new areas based on locations from Adventure Time and Chowder, along with new characters from multiple shows.
Third Expansion
A third expansion was planned. In this expansion, areas from Johnny Test, Ben 10, Steven Universe, Regular Show, The Amazing World of Gumball, and OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes would've been added, along with new characters from multiple shows.
Post Third Expansion Updates
Not much content was planned after the completion of the expansions, other than the possible addition of the Teen Titans, and the inclusion of more dungeons and bosses if they had not already been implemented.
Retro Finale
The finale for Retro was planned to have the player to go to Planet Fusion. The player, along with some other characters, would've take a Gem Warp Pad to an old temple that had been partially absorbed by Planet Fusion. The final boss would've been a fusion version of the player. Upon it's defeat, Planet Fusion would've withered to a husk, as it used the last of its energy to create the fusion player. The Fusion Monsters on Earth however would still remain.

Ultimately, something was meant to stop Him at the last moment and allow the portal to be opened without human sacrifice, to the relief of Adam.

Numbuh 86

Numbuh 86 was going to be added in Pre-Expansion Update 2. As would've been explained in a promotional manga intended to release with the update, the KND Moonbase was being overrun by fusion monsters, and Numbuh's 86 and 362 were leading the evacuation of the base. During the evacuation, the remaining operatives, including 86, got into the final escape pod. But at the last second, a fusion monster attacked and damaged the pods controls, meaning that the only way to get the pod to activate was to do it manually from the outside, so Numbuh 362 had to sacrifice herself so everyone else could escape. Numbuh 86 later wound up in Nowhere while trying to find a way to help Numbuh 362, but she is soon detained by Mr. Black and Mr. White, as they think she's an alien due to her Scottish accent. Mario Superior
Mario Superior was going to be changed to a vehicle vendor who sold Johnny Test-themed vehicles. His old missions are given out by Johnny and Dukey and they were rewritten to accommodate this.
Peggy Danger
Peggy Danger was going to be replaced by Doyle. Her missions as well as all missions involving her were rewritten to accommodate this.
Nanos
A total of 40 more Nanos were planned to be released by the time FusionFall Retro had reached its finale. Unstable Nano
Flapjack was originally planned to be the Unstable Nano's first transformation during a Valentine's Day event. When the decision to cut back on events was made, it was changed to Zak Saturday instead. This transformation would occur in Pre-Expansion Update 1. Ben would have transformed into Alien X and the player would have to wait for Bellicus and Serena to come to an agreement before Fusion Alien X could be defeated. The Nano would've had a new Dash power, which was based on a player ability added in the Academy version of the game.

Steven Universe Nanos
Steven Nano Concept Art
A number of Steven Universe Nanos were planned for the third expansion. Their appearance would be based on their designs from the original series compared to their NPC counterparts, which would have their Steven Universe Future designs. The Steven Nano would've had animations where Steven would be accompanied by the Crystal Gems. This was done so the gems could be represented in Nano form without the dev team creating a Nano for each individual member.
Teen Titans Nanos
Teen Titans Nanos Concept Art
Nanos for Robin, Cyborg, Beast Boy, Raven, Starfire and Slade would have accompanied the titans. Their designs are based on their New Teen Titans and Teen Titans GO! iterations.
Fusion Monsters
Beta and changed elements related to Fusion monsters in FusionFall Retro.

The Birthday Brawler enemy in FusionFall Retro
There is an unused enemy in FusionFall Retro called the Birthday Brawler. Its drop table is the same as the Birthday Basher. It's a renamed version of the stone turret enemy that went unused in the original game.

The unused boss, the Injustice Foe, was planed to be added to the stage in the Underground Mall in the planned overhaul to the Townsville Center area.
Bullfish
FFU's model for the Bullfish
This monster is based on a cut enemy from the original game. The model for it was constructed using its concept art and an unused texture found in the game. It likely would've been a monster in the Townsville Zoo area.
Fusions
Fusion Buck and Otto
Fusion Buck and Otto would have been both fought in the Time Squad Part 2 update. They were caught by the real Buck and Otto sending intel to Fusion Larry 3000 at Tech Square (Future). Fusion Otto would have been riding on Fusion Buck's shoulders. Given the level of the mission, it's likely they would have been fought somewhere at Green Maw.
Fusion Larry 3000
Fusion Larry 3000 would have been fought during the Larry 3000 world Nano mission. He is trying to mess with the time stream.
Fusion Johnny Test and Dukey
Fusion Dukey concept art

Fusion Z'Skayr would have been fought in the Null Void. He attacks the player using illusions. Defeating him rewards the player with the Ghostfreak Nano.

Fusion Tom concept art
Fusion TOM would have been fought during the TOM Nano mission. He would've been a combination of TOM 1 and the Intruder, referencing the events of The Intruder Toonami Total Immersion Event. Unlike the Intruder's original design, Fusion TOM would be held together by fusion matter instead of red goo.
Fusion Alien X
Fusion Alien X is fought during the Alien X Nano mission. Unlike other Fusions, he is completely invincible. The only to defeat him was for Ben to use Alien X.
Fusion Aku
Fusion Aku concept art
The FFU team were considering making the boss of the Samurai Jack Mystery Dungeon a Fusion version of Aku.
Fusion Numbuh 362
According to Virt, Fusion Numbuh 362 would've been at the top of a lighthouse on Skull Rock, and would use it as her base of operations.
Areas
Dexlabs Interior
The dev team considered adding an interior area to the Dexlabs building during the production of the New Year, New Nanos Update, but it was scrapped due to the sheer amount of work that was already being done for the update. They were likely going to add it at a later date.
Marquee Row Movie Posters
Movie posters were planned to be added to the outside of the movie theater. The building had various slots in which movie posters would go, but they were completely empty in the original game, so the devs decided to make movie posters to fill them in. They made a total of three concepts for posters. If they made more posters, they would've been based on other movies mentioned by the people in line at the theater and shown on the marquee above the entrance. One of the concepts for the posters was a remake of the poster for the live-action Ben 10: Alien Swarm movie.
Townsville Center Overhaul
At some point, Townsville Center was going to be given a complete overhaul. A branch of the bridge was going to be added that would connect midway through it and lead to City Hall. The south section of the mall could then be raised up and turned into a park area, with the stage and gazebo still intact.
First Expansion Areas
FFU's map for planned NPC's and areas in FusionFall Retro
The four areas featured in the first expansion were Stormalong Harbor, Monster Island, the Absolution and Mount Neverest.
Stormalong Harbor
Multiple assets for Stormalong have been shown off on a Discord server.
Monster Island
Monster Island was mentioned as almost being finished. The Retro version of the area was originally imagined as being a giant monster itself, with eyes and other body parts being scattered across the environment, but this was scrapped later on. A new version of the area was later developed using the map data of the original version that was made by the Grigon developers.
Absolution
The Absolution is hinted at by the TOM Nano and the mission, 1.21 Megawatts. It would've had an infected zone within the ship itself.
Mount Neverest
Mount Neverest was also being touched up for the expansion. The platform seen in the original game was going to be held up by Capital G.
Null Void
The Null Void was originally going to be part of the expansion, and was meant to be an infected zone. It would have featured Waybig as one of the escaped aliens. It was cut due to technical limitations.
Dungeons
Adventure Time and Foster's Home Dungeons
Adventure Time and Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends-themed dungeons were also planned. The Fosters dungeon was reported as being very similar to a fan-made concept. Its possible that the Adventure Time dungeon was similar to the Mystery Dungeon from the original game.
Samurai Jack Mystery Dungeon
There was also going to be an Aku-themed Samurai Jack Mystery Dungeon. The dungeons entrance would've been invisible and be moved around the Darklands from time to time. The enemies and bosses found inside the dungeon would've been based on Aku's robots. One of the ideas for how the dungeon would end is that the player would face off against a fusion version of Aku, and after defeating them, the real Aku would appear. He would talk about how he wants nothing to do with the war against Fuse, then use his magic to knock the player out, with them respawning back in the main game world afterwards.
Post First Expansion Areas
After the first expansion, the Underworld, Townsville Zoo, Hookslice Hills, and the Providence Petting Zoo were going to be added. The entrance to the Petting Zoo would've been in the desert south of Nowhere.
Second Expansion Areas
The second expansion would have featured Marzipan Suburbs, Marzipan City, Shmahara Dessert, Candy Kingdom, Grasslands, a Marsh area, and the Ice Kingdom. The Ice King's Home Invasion event served as an opportunity for the dev team to make assets that could be reused to create the Ice Kingdom area.
Third Expansion Areas
The Third Expansion would have featured Porkbelly, Elmore, Lakewood Plaza, The Park, Bellwood, Beach City, Temple and DeMayo Farm.
Planet Fusion
The finale for Retro was planned to have the player to go to Planet Fusion itself.
