Rex is a NPC in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. He is a human teenage Evo and an agent of Providence, being the organization's secret weapon in the fight against hostile Evos.^[1] He possesses the ability to transform his body into all sorts of cool machines.^[1]

Currently, he has joined the war against Planet Fusion alongside his allies and partners.

Physical appearance

Rex is a tan-skinned human teenager with black eyes and combed back and short black hair. For attire, he wears a blue and white t-shirt, a red and orange jacket, black gloves, dark blue pants with outlines, and dark blue shoes.

In the Future, Rex could be seen speeding around Pokey Oaks North on the Rex ride.

The Past

He is stationed at a Providence outpost in Townsville Park, where his nanites have malfunctioned. He can also be found in the sewers of Townsville Park with his sidekick, Bobo Haha. They were trapped there after chasing Dynamite Rats into the sewer. The only way to access the sewers is by doing a mission for Agent Six.

Following the establishment of the Academy, Rex could be found in Providence HQ. He, along with Lance, helps the Avatar through their training.

04.19.2010: Rex was added to the game. He could be found during "Off the Grid, Again!".^[1]
06.23.2010: Rex was added to additional places in the game. He could be found at the Providence base in Townsville Park and Pokey Oaks North (The Future) where he drives around on the streets in the Rex ride.^[2] In the former area, he hands out the Missions "Grounded" and "Alligators in the Sewers!".
02.16.2011:
- Rex was added to Null Void, Providence HQ and Mt. Neverest.^[3]
- Rex received a Nano. It could be obtained by either completing "Advanced Training (Part 3 of 6)" or by redeeming the code "FFCcontrolnanite" for Avatars predating the Academy.^[3]

Origin

Rex Salazar originates from the 2010 animated science fiction television series Generator Rex. In that media, he is the main protagonist of the show. A sixteen-year-old human Evo, Rex is the secret weapon of Providence, an international organization which exists to combat Evo threats. A typical isolated teenager, Rex is rebellious, overconfident, headstrong and impulsive. However, he is also a selfless and empathetic hero who tries his best to help anyone who is in trouble, although he often struggles with his duties and emotions. Despite his attitude, he is also clever and sneaky. Rex's powers as an Evo allows him to control and transform his body into any sort of machine, and, most prominently, cure most Evos.

The son of two scientists and the younger brother of the scientist Caesar, Rex and his family were involved in the Nanite Project. When Rex got injured though, he was injected with the first batch of nanites, turning him into the first Evo and saving his life. After surviving the Nanite Event however, Rex would be struck with amnesia periodically, leaving him with no recollection of his prior life. At the age of ten, Rex was captured by Providence after his nanites caused him to go on a rampage, but when his abilities became apparent, he was inducted into Providence as their secret weapon. Over the years, Rex came to bond with the other agents of Providence and made both new friends and enemies as they worked on curing Evos and fighting villains sprung forth from the Nanite Event. In the end, Rex successfully cured nearly all the Evos in the world and went to work battling other foes with Providence.

Trivia

Rex's character model in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall was reused from the online game Abysus Arena, except the model is without Rex's goggles and his hands are bigger.
The Rex Nano incorrectly lists the B.F.S. as the "Big Freakin Sword," while the acronym used for it in Generator Rex television series is "Big Fat Sword."
The Rex Nano is the first original Adaptium Nano the players can obtain in the game following the Academy expansion.
