Ed is a NPC in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. He is a human from the Cul-de-Sac in Peach Creek Commons and a close friend of Edd and Eddy. What Ed lacks in brains, he makes up for in loyalty to his friends and brawn, having done most of the construction work on the Castle-de-Sac that surrounds the Cul-de-Sac.^[1] During the Fusion Invasion, Ed went missing from the Cul-de-Sac to ultimately end up on Mount Blackhead, where he has declared himself the king of the jungle.

Physical appearance

Ed is a tall, yellow-skinned human with a black buzz cut, a big unibrow and a few pimples and freckles on his face. For attire, he wears a green jacket over top a red-and-white striped shirt, lilac jean pants, and black sneakers.

In the manga, when the Fusion Invasion arrives on Earth, Ed, Edd, and Eddy are watching the sky when the first Terrafuser swoops past them. Ed suggests that it looks like a giant jawbreaker.

Ed is notably absent in the Future. Since Eddy said that "Big Ed isn't around anymore," it is implied that he fell during Planet Fusion's initial invasion.

The Past

In the Past, Ed can be found in Mount Blackhead, having wound up there after escaping pursuit from May Kanker. Ed has seemingly proclaimed himself as "The King of the Jungle," going so far as to adopt a stereotypical "kingly" accent when he talks, calling the Hero a "servant." He tells the player to tell Double D that he likes being where he is and he wants to stay forever.

Origin

Ed originates from the 1999 Canadian animated television series Ed, Edd n Eddy. In that media, he is one of the main characters. Airheaded, dimwitted, and living in a world full of subculture genres derived from low-budget comics and monster movies, yet extremely loyal and happy-go-lucky, Ed is a part of the Eds, which consists of him, Edd and Eddy. Ed in particular serves as the group's workhorse, as his uncanny physical strength and toughness often comes in handy. Together with his friends, Ed lives in the Cul-de-Sac in Peach Creek. He also has a kid sister, named Sarah, who despised him and bossed him around for much of the series without Ed ever speaking up against it.

Having been friends with Edd and Eddy since they were toddlers, Ed would grow up alongside his friends trying to earn money from the neighborhood kids using Eddy's assortment of scams in order to buy jawbreakers. Ed in particular is always a good candidate for Eddy's scams, as he rarely questions them. However, the Eds' scams usually fail, which would not only leave them in embarrassing and painful situations, but also make them social outcasts. In addition, Ed and his friends would consistently be pursued by their unwanted love interests, the Kanker sisters. Eventually though, the Eds were accepted among the neighborhood children once it became clear to them that all the Eds longed for were to be accepted.

Trivia

• Ed is the only member of the Eds to have only two Fusions for the player to fight; Edd and Eddy both have three.
