Fusion Ed is an enemy that appears in Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. He is the Fusion counterpart of Ed.

Physical appearance

A Fusion clone of Ed, Fusion Ed is an adolescent, human-based creature whose body is made of Fusion Matter. Standing rather tall, he possesses a tall neck, a dark green buzz cut, a big unibrow, and menacing and featureless red eyes, but no mouth. For attire, he wears a dark lime green jacket over top a red-and-black striped shirt, dark green pants, and black sneakers.

Gameplay

In gameplay, Fusion Ed is a boss fought in his different Fusion Lairs during certain missions. To target Fusion Ed, align the Avatar with him to make his information window appear on the top of the screen. Should his Health Bar reach zero when battling him, the Fusion Matter animating Fusion Ed will break up, and Fusion Ed will disintegrate.^[1] The player will then automatically receive some Fusion Matter and Taros as reward. However, while Fusion Ed's Taro reward remains consistent, his Fusion Matter reward will decrease for each level the Avatar is above Fusion Ed; if the Avatar is six levels higher than Fusion Ed or more, no Fusion Matter is rewarded. Sometimes, the player also automatically receives loot from defeating Fusion Ed in the form of C.R.A.T.E.s, Nano Potions, and Weapon Boosts.

In battle, Fusion Ed targets the Avatar when they get close enough. However, the higher the Avatar's level is, the closer they can get to Fusion Ed without him attacking them. Once they begin fighting, Fusion Ed will continue attacking until either he is destroyed, the Avatar is defeated, or the Avatar moves too far away from his point of origin. If the Avatar runs away from him, Fusion Ed will follow them until he gets too far away from his area of roaming, at which point he will return, where he will regain his full health instantly. Notably, while retreating, he will be invulnerable to attacks. Also, once defeated, Fusion Ed will respawn after roughly a year.

Fusion Invasion

The Past

In the Past, Fusion Ed was created in the Darklands, specifically in Hero's Hollow.^[2]

Fusion Ed himself would study dinosaur DNA for Fuse in the Darklands. While within the safety of his Fusion Lair though, he got cornered by the Avatar who destroyed him after an extensive battle, which produced a Ed Nano from Fusion Ed's remains and the comic books from Ed that the Fusion had stolen.^[3]

Despite his defeat, Fusion Ed soon returned. While within the Lair of the Fusion Eds with Fusion Edd and Fusion Eddy however, the Avatar would corner Fusion Ed and his colleagues and destroy them again.^[4]

Personality

Fusion Ed has not displayed much in terms of personality. According to Samurai Jack though, he is one of Fuse's most dangerous underlings.^[4]

Powers and abilities

Fusion Ed is among Fuse's most powerful minions and is growing stronger each day.^[2][5] Skills Fusion Ed has exhibited include:

• Fusion Matter Explosion: Fusion Ed possesses the Eruption Attack, which lets him create a localized explosion of Fusion Matter from the ground. When launching this attack, Fusion Ed makes the ground below his opponent glow with Fusion Matter for a few seconds before causing a pillar of Fusion Matter to erupt.
• Limited Nano Power Immunity: On occasion, Fusion Ed possesses the Freedom - Self power, which gives him the following Nano Power immunities:
  • Sleep Immunity: Fusion Ed cannot be affected by the Sleep Nano Power.
  • Snare Immunity: Fusion Ed cannot be affected by the Snare Nano Power.
  • Stun Immunity: Fusion Ed cannot be affected by the Stun Nano Power.
• Nano Drain: Fusion Ed possesses the Corruption Attack, which lets him drain Nanos of their stamina. When he is attacking a Nano, he will start to glow, which is the wind up, before throwing an attack that will trump her opponent's Nano. Should it make contact, the Nano will lose a lot of stamina. Conversely, if his opponent drops their current Nano and brings out one that deflects the attack back at Fusion Ed, the Nano will get a boost in stamina. Should Fusion Ed launch his Corruption Attack on an opponent without a Nano out though, the former will take damage.
• Stun Inducement: On occasion, Fusion Ed possess the Stun - Cone power, which can immobilize his opponents completely for a few moments.
