This article lists the content exclusive to Nano Powers in Retrobution.
In Retrobution, there have been made changes to a handful of Nano Powers, aiming for more practicality in gameplay, and features a brand new Nano Power replacing Recall - Group. Additionally, some Nanos with two variations of the same power have had one of those powers swapped with similar Nanos.
List of Nano Powers[]
Passive powers[]
Antidote[]
When active, Antidote will let you step and swim in toxic Fusion Matter without taking damage. New to Retrobution, it also shields the player from Eruption Attacks at the cost of consuming all of the Nano's stamina.
Bonus[]
When active, Bonus will increase the amount of Taros rewarded by twenty percent. This applies to both enemies and missions, but not to Shopkeepers or trades between players.
Freedom[]
When active, Freedom protects against Sleep, Snare, and Stun. It comes in both Self and Group varieties. New to Retrobution, it also protects against Battery Drain, with Guard receiving a new function in exchange.
Guard[]
Unlike the original game, Guard increases the invincibility frames of the player instead of blocking against Battery Drain; the player obtains an additional half second of invincibility, increased to a full second when the player holds a Melee weapon and is within attacking range.
Jump[]
When active, Jump increases the player's jump height to double its normal level. This power comes in both Self and Group varieties.

Radar[]
When active, Radar shows the position of every enemy within a short distance of the player. The distance is roughly half the radius of the NanoCom radar when at minimum zoom.
Run[]
When active, Run will increase the player's movement speed from its default 600 class. This power comes in both Self and Group varieties. The speed granted by the Run power is equal to an 800 Class Vehicle. When a run Nano is given a gumball, the speed is 830 class.
Scavenge[]
When active, Scavenge will increase the amount of Fusion Matter rewarded by twenty percent. This applies to both enemies and missions, but not to races.
Sneak[]
When active, Sneak will reduce the distance at which enemies will become aware of the player. Its effectiveness is based on the difference between the player's level and that of the enemy. This power comes in both Self and Group varieties.
Treasure Finder[]
When active, Treasure Finder shows the position of every one of Coco's Eggs (regardless of type) within a short distance of the player. The distance is roughly half the radius of the NanoCom radar when at minimum zoom.
Triggered powers[]
Damage[]
When triggered, Damage will cause direct damage to any targeted enemies. Point will concentrate damage on a single target. Area will damage a specific target and any enemies within a short distance of that target. Cone will affect all enemies directly in the player's path. Area and Cone do less damage than Point.

Dash[]
Dash is a Nano Power introduced in Retrobution, replacing the Recall - Group Nano Power. When triggered, the player does a sudden and horizontal movement in an instant that gives 1.5 seconds of invincibility frames per use; this ability replicates the Dash from Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. The recharge time and stamina consumption are reduced if the Nano is given a gumball.
Drain[]
When triggered, Drain will cause the targeted enemy to slowly lose health. Point will target a specific enemy, while Area will hit the target and any enemies nearby. Drain can sometimes fail though.
Health[]
When triggered, Health restores the player's health by a certain amount. Self will restore a large amount of health. Self Area will heal the player and any other players within a short distance of them, but will not restore as much health as Self. Group will heal the player and any other players in their group as long as they are nearby, but like Self Area will not restore as much health as Self does.
Leech[]
When triggered, Leech will damage the targeted enemy while simultaneously restoring a small amount of the player's health. It can only affect a single target.
Recall[]
When triggered, Recall will automatically teleport the player to the last registered Recall Point. Exclusive to Retrobution, Recall only comes in the Self variation, the Group variation having been replaced with the Dash.
Rocket[]
When triggered, Rocket will provide the player with an additional jump, equal to the height of a regular jump unless the player has collected a Jump powerup from an egg. In the original game, the player must already be in the air for Rocket to function; in Retrobution, it can be used on both the ground and in midair.
In certain Infected Zones, a small rocket model is present in certain locations, which is an indicator that a Nano with a Rocket power is needed to fully traverse the area.
Sleep[]
When triggered, Sleep will put the targeted enemy to sleep, preventing them from moving and attacking and granting a guaranteed critical hit. Enemies affected by Sleep will awaken if attacked. Area will affect the target and any nearby enemies. Self Area will affect any enemies within a short distance of the player. Cone will affect all enemies directly in the player's path.

Miscellaneous[]
Revive[]
Nanos with the Revive power let you remain at your current location when you die, instead of respawning on a Resurrect'Em.
This power comes in both Self and Group varieties, which are classified as Passive and Triggered powers, respectively. If a Revive - Self Nano is active when the player is defeated, they are given the option to respawn at their current location. The Group variety will not revive you, but only other people in your group, and it must be triggered for it to work.

Patch Notes[]
The following list contains the Patch Notes pertaining to the Nano Powers in Retrobution:
- 06.01.2021 (v.010621 patch): The Snare Nano Power now slows both the movement and attack speed of monsters.
- 10.04.2021 (v.041021 patch): Groups Nano Powers will no longer grant indefinite buffs.

- 09.15.2022 (v.150922 patch):
- The Guard Nano Power no longer blocks the Battery Drain. Instead, while holding a melee weapon it gives the player one second of invincibility frames on every hit taken and while holding a ranged weapon it is half a second.
- The Freedom Nano Power now blocks both Battery Drain and Leech powers.
- Shield-type Nano Powers (Freedom, Guard, and Antidote) will now linger for a second after the Mano is dismissed. The Nano's stamina bar is still drained as a result, however.
- The Guard Nano Power no longer blocks the Battery Drain. Instead, while holding a melee weapon it gives the player one second of invincibility frames on every hit taken and while holding a ranged weapon it is half a second.
- 10.16.2022 (v.161022 patch):
- The Antidote Nanno Power can now block Eruption Attacks, but at the cost of the Nano's entire stamina bar.
- The Guard Nano Power's I-frames have been halved for all weapons excluding melee weapons. However, the melee I-frame increase only works at melee range from here on out.
- All shield-type Nano Powers no longer drain the stamina bar when the Nano is put away.
- 04.17.2023 (v.170423 patch):
- The Leech Nano Power restores more health.
- Getting hit by an Eruption Attack while being buffed by the Antidote Nano Power will no longer drain the stamina of unrelated Nanos anymore.
- 07.25.2023 (v.250723 patch):
- The crown model in the visual effects for the Scavenge and Bonus Nano Powers has been fixed and repositioned above the Avatar's head as it was originally in 2009 and beta versions of the original game before it became bugged.
- The Snare Nano Power's slow factor has been reduced but its ability lasts longer.
- The Drain - Point Nano Power drains the enemies' health faster.
- The Finn Nano's Damage - Point Nano Power now has an effect with his animation.
- 06.27.2024 (v.270624 patch): The Damage Nano Power now works by picking the highest percent of player HP versus the percent of mob HP. Percentage varies by if it is Damage - Point, Damage - Area, or Damage - Cone.
- 10.26.2024 (v.261024 patch):
- 01.03.2025 (v.030125 patch): Numbuh 5's Revive - Self Nano Power had its description updated.[2]
- 02.13.2025 (v.130225 patch):
- The Dash Nano Power was added to the game, replacing every instance of the Recall - Group Nano Power.[3]
- The Recall - Self Nano Power has been renamed "Recall".[3]
- Nanos with two types of the same Nano Power have had their powers swapped with other Nanos for better power distribution:[3]
- 03.02.2025 (v.020325 patch):
- A glitch with the Dash Nano Power that caused players to not set off from Jump Pads when dashing onto until the Avatar got off them was fixed.[4]
- A strange power interaction that happened with the Rocket Nano Power, where the jump boost from either Jump - Group or Jump Nano Powers awarded from Coco's Eggs would increase Rocket's height, was fixed.[4]
- A typo in the description for the Panini Nano's Stun - Area Nano Power was fixed.[4]
- A glitch that caused the Dash Nano Power to show Recall - Group's reticle still if the Avatar had a Nano with said Nano Power out while in a group was fixed.[4]
- An error that caused the Prof. Utonium Nano's Sleep - Cone Nano Power to display the icon for the Sleep - Area Nano Power in the Nano Book and on the Nano Power selection menu was patched.[4]
- 03.03.2025 (v.030325 patch): The Prof. Utonium Nano's "Prof. Protection" Nano Power is displayed as Sleep - Area, like intended.
- 10.26.2025 (v.261025 patch):
- As a part of a previous update, description changes to the Recall - Self Nanos were accidentally pushed, describing a rework that did not make it to the live game. As such, the descriptions for those Nano Powers were reverted back to their original ones from FusionFall Retro until further notice.[5]
- The animation that plays when using Dash now changes based on the weapon type the Avatar is holding. This includes a new animation for Dashing with Rockets while in the air, Dashing with Pistols while on the ground and Dashing with Rifles while on the ground and air.[5]
- An issue where alt-tabbing while Dashing would send the Avatar further in the air/further ahead was patched.[5]
- An interaction with emotes and Dashing that would cause the Avatar to contort in unintended ways was patched.[5]
