The Weeper is an enemy that appears in Retrobution. It is a species of Fusion Monsters that is used in Fuse's Army.

Physical appearance

Essentially a colossal version of the Skull Basher, the Weeper is a large, almost round and nearly black boulder with an interior made of Fusion Matter that leaks out of it from every opening in its surface, including its eyes and mouth. Rubble attached to it allows it to mimic expressions. It also has a pair of tightly curled horns, two featureless green eyes, and a wide mouth with sharp gray teeth.

Gameplay

In gameplay, the Weeper is a unique enemy monster that the player can fight on their own accord if they bring a Necronomicon to the lower left sector of the Boneyard. By then using that item in that location on the Character Screen, the Weeper will be summoned and ready for combat. Alternatively, the player can use the same procedure for the Weird Necronomicon to summon five Weepers at once.

To target the Weeper, align the Avatar with it to make its information window appear on the top of the screen. Should its Health Bar reach zero when battling it, the Fusion Matter animating the Weeper will break up, and the Weeper will disintegrate.[1] The player will then automatically receive some Fusion Matter and Taros as reward. However, while the Weeper's Taro reward remains consistent, its Fusion Matter reward will decrease for each level the Avatar is above the Weeper. The player also automatically receives loot when defeating the Weeper in the form of a Weeper CRATE.

In battle, the Weeper targets the Avatar when they get close enough. However, the higher the Avatar's level is, the closer they can get to the Weeper without it attacking them. Once it begins fighting, the Weeper will continue attacking until either it is destroyed, the Avatar is defeated, or the Avatar moves too far away from its point of origin. Notably, the Weeper attacks by making long dashes across the battlefield, creating a string of swift Eruption Attacks in its wake. At the beginning, those dashes will be relatively slow and easy to predict. When its health has been lowered to a certain point though, it will summon a Horror Jack, and its movements become faster and less predictable. The next phase of the fight begins when the Weeper summons a Mummy Marauder, during which the Weeper becomes even faster. Eventually, it will summon a Nosferatu Nightmare, too, at which point it will move very swiftly and across large distances in an unpredictable manner until it is defeated. Also, once defeated, the Weeper will not respawn unless summoned with another Necronomicon.

History

Retrobution

Fusion Invasion

The Past

In the Past, the Weeper was presumed to have been slain by King George of the Forever Knights, and sealed away in a strange bool that could trap any kind of evil. Due to the dark magic around Eternal Meadows though, the Weeper returned to turn its wrath on those who would disturb it.

Over the course of the Fusion Invasion, the Weeper would occasionally be summoned by the soldiers opposing the invasion who were either brave (or foolish) enough to combat it.

Behavior

Like other Fusion Monsters, the Weeper is aggressive and hostile.
